The Trump administration has intensified its scrutiny of Chinese nationals studying at North -American universities after several cases of the last years of communist students who are involved in alleged under -report activities while in the United States.
Incidents, who have involved allegations of espionage, conspiracy and accusations of misleading federal officers, resulted in Chinese or other Chinese national bonds that participate in joint education programs between the United States and China.
Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced on Wednesday the State Department and the National Security Department Plan to “aggressively revoke the visas of Chinese national students, including those who have connections to the Chinese Communist Party.”
A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs operated the new policy in a statement on Thursday in X, saying that the measure was “totally unjustified” and damaging the reputation of the United States.

About 300,000 Chinese nationals have student visas in the United States. It is unclear if the State Department plans to guide them all or only to some. Fox News Digital contacted the Department for more clarity.

The acting director of ICE, Todd Lyons, told Harvard in a letter that was made public through the presentation of the courts that the revocation was the result of the alleged prevalence of anti -Semitism on the campus, but also a consequence of the “serious concerns” of the administration that the university has “coordinated with the Chinese Communist Party”.
Lyons cited several examples, including Harvard, who accepted $ 151 million from foreign donors since 2020, working with “China-based scholars” on “Iranian government agent” projects, collaborating with Chinese universities and using public funds to do so and collaborating with people “related to the industrial base of China’s defense”.
